He has a lot more than bipolar. He is not really culpable for any of his actions. Our society and how we treat the mentally ill is culpable.
I don't know what his therapy/medication cocktail is but he is certified.
It's not right to be abusive. But if a child hits someone we treat it much differently. Just like crimes of passion and crimes by the mentally impaired.
But if you are in his orbit, you know what's up. All 3 things can be true...
1. Schizophrenia+ whatever else he has can make moral choices impossible.
2. It's wrong to hurt people.
3. Adults who decide to have sex with/marry people with severe cognitive impairment issues who are known for their abuse are allowed to be frowned upon.
There is room for nuance. These are adults making adult decisions that have consequences.
