I had 3 women break up with me because of my writing this year.

But my favorite was a woman who, before we met, read seemingly everything I'd ever written. On the first date I'd start telling her a story and she'd say, "I know."

On the second date she started referencing my friends and family. Details I'd never told her about. She'd bring up topics I was exploring... I thought in my mind silently... but no! I'd written about it on twitter a few months ago.

She'd say things like, "It's okay to write about this..." like after we kissed.

It acted as reverse psychology! (Until now. lol)

One of my hard phone calls was with a close friend I wrote about in a Medium story called, "10 years ago I kissed a woman worth chasing all over North America."

I hadn't thought anything of it when I published it. But she'd fallen in love with someone else, and she got scared they'd see it and figure it out and think I was competition. It doesn't even read like a love letter to me... but what are you going to do.
