I have two stories I've shared about addiction.

And I count what you did as everything.

With that other mother, there are tons of people who will tell her she's enabling him. There is plenty of reason to believe she's ruining more relationships because she's keeping a hold of a son who... On the face of it, sounds manipulative and awful. A son who is gripped by addiction and not himself, and has warped everything around him and his desires st the expense of his immediate family.

Forgive me if this oversteps my bounds. You know your son better than I do.

Your son, wouldn't have wanted you to do what the other mother did. He wouldn't want you to risk your sanity, life, relationships, to get his fix. He took a brave step to isolate himself to lower the blast radius.

He wanted autonomy and you allowed him that. It's cliche and small succor, but I say it with sincerity, I believe in Heaven. I believe your son is there. He's proud of you and he appreciated you, for all you did.

As of now, there is no 100% guarantee fix to addiction like he had. You! Gave him the best odds. From what I read, I truly believe this.

The best odds don't always land in our favor. And in this case it sucks.

I'm proud of you.

It's incredible you shared this. Thank you. You touched my heart with your bravery and reflection.
