Is there any hot take where it's okay to say, "My boundary is I get to manipulate and abuse you, and if you don't like it you have to break up with me because I'm a coward..."

And it's like... Okay because that person will be forever alone?

I have dated a Johan Hill type. And was surprised that I didn't take them up on the offer to break up. It was just like that." Stop seeing/talking to your friends or break up with me! That's my boundary."

And instead of respecting her request I was like. No.

After a month she broke up with me.

Writing it out now, I do feel like my reaction to just sort of ignore and patronize was suboptimal. Likewise, for me, a significant other asking for insane and transgresive things is a turn on. Even if I don't do them.

Delete your social media. Stop talking to your hot friends. Etc.

I'd never do it. But golly, it's intoxicating to be with someone who asks for it.

My current significant other would never tolerate that behavior from me, but there are some dudes who get away with it. So it's not just the ask. It's a whole chemistry thing, I think.

More to the point of the article, you convinced me masculinity is a muddled word that isn't particularly useful.
