Thanks.

I love writing on Medium. I've made tons of friends, and met writers I'd never have access to otherwise. Many of whom write in english as a 2nd language. This doesn't bother me. Nor does it bother me, to see people who don't have a total grasp of western stylistic norms get popular.

You don't have to be a great writer to share from your heart. You don't have to be a great philosopher to change someone's life with your own experience and story. I've read and enjoyed poorly written works.

So, I don't want to be a hater. And if anyone read my comment and thought, "Oh I will never be good enough," that's not what I'm getting at and I ask forgiveness.

If I wasn't sure this was fake, I'd have taken a much different tone.

When I saw the tiktok videos weren't even videos. They were just slide shows about how famous she is on Medium.... 🤷🏻‍♀️

As you pointed out in your comment, it goes against Zulie's ethos. Both personally, regarding the integrity of her own work, but I've been lucky to be in the audience while she gives talks. She gives great advice about how important it is to hold yourself to a high standard and avoid shortcuts. And am happy to admit Zulie is a better essay and article writer than me, it's why I look up to and follow her.

On top of all this, Medium has standards about using copyrighted material without permission. Which was the most quizzical part of this for me.

PS: I've been enjoying your substack, Dr.
